Safety people are prized for their technical expertise. They know about the law and about standards and they have experience of how other organisations have solved problems. They are the ‘go to’ people whenever a safety problem arises. But what happens when the safety practitioner doesn’t have the solution to the problem? Or perhaps the solution they’re familiar with doesn’t suit a particular situation. What happens then?
In cases like this especially, a collaborative approach is required and increasingly organisations are valuing most those practitioners who have supplemented their technical training with the skills required to be collaborative.
IOSH Approved Coaching for safety was designed to provide those very skills. It’s a unique, highly-participative programme based on a series of live coaching sessions all involving real-life issues and problems the delegates bring themselves – there is absolutely no role-play.
